“As a fellow in training, I am always looking for the best tools and ways to treat our patients the best possible way.

It is a challenge to select the right information from the vast amount of available scientific papers, reference books, lectures and talks. Therefore, I was impressed by the well-designed structure of the SORG Comprehensive Course.

For me as CMF surgeon in training, SORG is a great help when it comes to finding the relevant information to the topics that really matter. Sometimes it even just feels like SORG is a big brother helping you to take the right turns.

Regarding the program, I think that the course gives a good and complete overview around CMF surgery with all the relevant topics addressed. What I liked most about the program were the sharp discussions about a specific topic like for example “the use of short dental implants versus vertical bone augmentation” with two speakers representing the one or the other approach. This was very interesting to watch as the vigorous debate between two experienced CMF surgeons is even more exciting and sometimes surprising than the normal straightforward teaching approach.

In general, the course represents the fire and passion we all share for the subject and it was a good feeling to meet again in person and have exchange and discussions as well as the opportunity to socialize with like-minded people after such a long time.

About the course:

In the year 2021, SORG invited to join the new and advanced format of the already well-known Comprehensive Course. In this new format, SORG brought not only six days full of “Updates and Controversies in Advanced Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery“ to Tuttlingen, Germany, but also to everyone’s computer at home or workplace in a hybrid format.

Online and on-site participants enjoyed diverse and interesting presentations, debates and interactive case discussions. In addition to the opportunity to demonstrate the knowledge gained directly in hands-on workshops, it was the first possibility in 19 months to meet and exchange ideas face-to-face.
