After 18 months, we returned with a big bang and our Comprehensive Course 2023! We had a fantastic 6-day course week together driven by the different SORG sections. With a comprehensive and diverse program comprising lectures, debates, case discussions, and hands-on workshops, each day was a complete success.
Besides the excellent prepared program, the course was characterized by a fantastic atmosphere allowing all participants and speakers to share their ideas and opinions on a very personal level. We are grateful for the opportunity to have brought together so many talented and enthusiastic CMF surgeons.
Everyone involved put so much energy and effort into this course. We want to thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts. Sincere thanks to all the speakers for their excellent lectures and hard work in making this course happen. Thanks to all participants who shared their passion for CMF surgery. The Comprehensive Course has been a wonderful time of education and learning here in Tuttlingen. I really appreciate SORG for organizing all these amazing speakers.
My highlight of the week has been collaborating with people from outside the country I don’t usually work with, seeing the differences between the United States and other countries in their ways of doing things. Also, the staff was doing a fantastic job. It organized the course very well and took care of you.
It was a relatively informal vibe during the course, which created a very inclusive atmosphere. I had a wonderful time, and everyone should take the chance to come to Germany to participate in this amazing course.
The outstanding number of lectures from different professors all around the world presenting a variety of methods or ways of thinking was very inspiring for me. It's always interesting to see what other surgeons do and how their work differs from what you regularly do.
Getting in touch with the speakers allowed me to understand different views and ideas about what to do in various cases. Of course, reading about possible surgical techniques in articles is nice, but hearing and seeing it in a course like this one is so much better.
As a resident, it was amazing to see other residents and young seniors from other hospitals and different places in the world, to learn from them how their internship program is structured and what fields and aspects their daily work includes.
The combination of these experiences made it worth participating in the course. I would definitely do it again and recommend it to my friends.

The course has been fantastic! The lectures and presentations were high-quality, and I enjoyed the interactive case discussions with the speakers. In general, the atmosphere was always very pleasant, and it was great to meet other CMF surgeons from all over the world.
