Scientific lectures were held in the picturesque Palais Auesperg and cadaver workshops were conducted in the state-of-the-art facilities of the Institute of Anatomy (Medical University of Vienna); both located in the heart of historic Vienna. With over 40 participants from 21 different nations, this was truly an international course where there were an abundance of interesting discussions and networking opportunities. Attendees first attended a 2-day theoretical component covering a range of clinical TMJ cases, treatment options and concepts. Participants and lecturers were given a chance at the conclusion of each section to discuss in further detail certain aspects of TMJ treatment and surgery. This was accompanied by a half-day hands-on cadaver workshop (maximum 2-per a cadaver specimen) where treatments such as TMJ arthrocentesis and arthroscopy were performed as well as surgical approaches to the joint area. The multitude of experienced TMJ specialist surgeons involved in this course coupled with a vast international group of delegates yet again made for a very successful course in Vienna.
