Dear SORG friend,
Preprosthetic surgery and surgery around dental implants are some of the most innovative areas in maxillofacial surgery today. Currently, there is a debate regarding the use of approaches with augmentation versus non-augmentation approaches for masticatory rehabilitation. Classical augmentation aims at regeneration and replacement of lost hard and soft tissues, often at the burden of additional operations, whilst the non-augmentation techniques claim to restore function and facial aesthetics without tissue regeneration. These different approaches will be discussed in our forthcoming SORG Preprosthetic WEBSchool.
This SORG WEBSchool series will present information regarding novel non-augmentation approaches such as the use of digitally printed subperiosteal patient-specific implants for atrophic maxillary reconstruction as well as the use of zygomatic implants in the management of low-level malignancy. In contrast, innovative bone and soft tissue augmentation techniques such as the sandwich interpositional graft and graftless sinus lift techniques will also be discussed. In addition, this exciting series of online lectures will also include how the operative burden can be reduced for the patient by the use of minimally invasive approaches incorporating digital planning and surgical navigation. The patient is always central to surgical decision making and their perception comes more and more into focus as the range of options and techniques becomes more varied.
We invite you to sign up for this informative SORG WEBSchool examining the latest research and developments in innovative preprosthetic and implant surgery.
See you soon in one of our upcoming webinars!
